ALOE VERA BENEFITS

Aloe Vera has been used for centuries to maintain health and enhance beauty by both the Greeks and the Egyptians who valued it highly.
In the Uk many people had never really heard of Aloe Vera but over the years it has steadily increased in popularity and has now established itself as a marketing buzz word ingredient. It has been added to an increasing variety of products and the ' with aloe ' label is commonplace. The trouble with this is that the small quantities that are usually added are unlikely to produce any beneficial results.

Cosmetic firms such as Clairol, have added to shampoo, Revlon has added it to lipstick and Gillette to after-shave products all because of its soothing and moisturising effects. Its even been added to toilet paper, latex gloves, babies' nappies and women's tights.

Aloe Vera is a succulent, looking rather like a cactus but in fact a member of the lily family related to onions, garlic and asparagus. Once the plant is mature the inner gel can be harvested, preserved and bottled to produce a product that is as near to the natural plant juice. Aloe Vera is not a panacea for all ills and there is no magic  about it, however it works primarily in two areas epithelial tissue and the immune system and is supported by a considerable amount of anecdotal evidence but is now being backed up by clinical trials.

Aloe Vera contains over 75 known active ingredients and in those 19 out of 20 amino acids required by the human body and 7 of the 8 essential amino acids, which the body cannot make, are included as well as vitamins and minerals.

The benefits of taking Aloe Vera for various things from drinking to skin products can vary with reported evidence from skin complaints such as Eczema, Acne, Burns, Psoriasis, Ulcers even Stings and Bites.
Proof of this is its currently used at Great Ormond Street Hospital for Sick Children in London to treat the rare and distressing blistering skin disease, Epidermolysis Bullosa and has also found favour in many other hospital departments that carry out skin procedures which can result in pain, bruising or even burning.
They have also found relief from Bowel  Syndrome, Arthritis, Asthma and ME and LE have improved after a regular ingestion of Aloe Vera. However it is still important for people to seek advice from their doctor when a diagnosis is in doubt or where a condition does not improve.

To cap it off the Benefits are :

* Infuses you with energy

* Hydrates your skin
